This year, Random Acts of Kindness day falls on Monday, February 17th. I am planning a school-wide activity to spread joy and gratitude. The best part, it is completely FREE!
I downloaded a copy of this FREE kindness letter with the header, “You’ve made a difference in my life!” and made enough copies for all the kiddos in my school.
I am planning on giving teachers enough copies for all of their students and asking that they complete this activity at a convenient time (such as for morning work or during a center on Fun Friday).
I encourage students to write letters to a staff member or someone in our school community that is not another student. When I have done this activity in the past, eliminating the ability to write to another student minimizes hurt feelings and popularity contests within the classroom. You can choose to complete this activity however you want! 🙂
Teachers/students are encouraged to hold on to their letters until the 17th of February, Random Acts of Kindness Day. On that day, the letters are distributed and many people’s days are brightened.
I cannot wait to do this and hope you join me!
